He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Banning and Floy Banning; his siblings, Lyle, Elmo, Keith, Norma Burton, Nola Burch, Lena Utterback and Twyla "Peg" Wilson; his son Melvin "Craig" Banning; and his stepdaughter Lorna "Lori" Cox.
He is survived by: his wife Margo; his sons, Elmo (Sheila) and Mark (Cindy); and his stepdaughter Sandy Atkins. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
