He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, J. O. Christy and Pearl Christy (Claggett); his wife La Moyne Dye; his children, Jeannie Newell (Jon), Richard Christy Jr. (Silvana) and Johnny Christy (Anga); his grandchildren, Kyley Crittendon (Johnny), Patrick Christy (Jacqueline), Scott Newell (Jackie), Valerie Nangle (Colin), Brian Newell (Nash) and Christopher Christy (Lisa); his sister Ramona Christy of Seguin, Texas.; his granddaughter Stephanie Christy; and his siblings, JoAnn Hall and Norman Christy. He was also cherished by six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Remembrance ceremony and interment at Miramar National Cemetery on December 29, 2020 at 9:00 a. m. (For immediate family only due to Covid-19 concerns.).
