He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Sherrilyn; his children, Tracy, Toler and Laura Romero; his son-in-law Romero; his grandchildren, Jessica, James and Victoria; his brother Mike Goodwin; and his brothers-in-law, Chuck Bieler and Wilt Williams. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider donations in tribute to Chip to the La Jolla Playhouse or Alzheimer's San Diego.
