He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Monroe and Nora Belle Hatfield (Riley); his daughters, Linda Valesquez, Valerie Sanford (Kevin), Sandy Spoon (Rob) and Barbara Hatfield; his sister Norean Hardin; his children, Eleanor and Joe, Jr.; and his siblings, Ora Lee Spencer, Ancel and James. He was also cherished by six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews as well as Marcie's four sons.
