It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy D. Newman (Santa Maria, California), born in Montgomery, Alabama, who passed away on September 10, 2019, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Merlyn A. Newman; her son Paul J. Newman; her son-in-law Stephan M. Myers; her parents, Wilbur Pearson and Florine Pearson; her parents-in-law, Albert and Wava Newman; her brother-in-law Martin Newman; her sister Marjorie; and her niece Susie.
She is survived by: her children, Dorothy, Clarice Myers and Glenn Newman (Nina); and her sister-in-law Nanette Benbrook (Tom). She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church in Santa Maria or the ALS Foundation.
