He is survived by: his wife Lilita Velasco Sarmiento; his children, Jocelyn Rauscher (Mike), Richard Sarmiento (Jean), Lilybeth Sarmiento, Cristina Solomon (Erwin), Julius Sarmiento and Victor Sarmiento (Catherine); his grandchildren, Magen, Micah, Mitchel Rauscher, Regine, Jeric, Giselle Sarmiento, Evangeline and Madison Solomon; and his siblings, Aurelia Guillermo, Estella Pagador of San Diego and Benjamin Sarmiento (Betty Sarmiento).
