He was predeceased by: his wife Hortencia Gomez; his parents, Adela Gomez and Bruno Gomez; his aunt Cruz Vega; his uncle Joaquin Vega; and his brothers, Joe Muro (Dolly), Arturo Sanchez, Alfonso Sanchez, Albert Vega (Irma), Felix Vega, Richard Vega and Joaquin Vega Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Gilbert Gomez (Penny), Ralph Gomez (Dolores), Albert Gomez (Kelly), Betty Gomez, Melinda Gomez, Edward Gomez (Diana) and Christopher Gomez; his siblings, Henry Gomez, Teresa Herrera (Nellie), Rachel Cabrajal, Connie Hernandez and Gloria Hinojosa (Manuel); and his granddaughter Angelica Gomez. He is also survived by his sons and grandsons play football, baseball and basketball and his daughters.
