With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert E. Rice Sr. (Seaside, California), born in Buffalo, South Carolina, who passed away on December 2, 2021 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Rice and Iola Rice; his wife Mable E. Rice; his daughter Lola Caruthers; and his siblings, J. C. Rice, Mae Browning, Ruthel Cobbs and Katherine Smith.

He is survived by: his children, Sharon Rice, Anita Sterling, Kimley Rice, Thomas Roehrle, Robert E. Rice Jr. and Rodney Rice; and his sisters, Lela Pearl Gilliam of Staten Island, Juliet Rice of Staten Island and Myrtle Fuller of Cleveland, Ohio. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
