He was predeceased by : his parents, Lee Sivey and Velma Sivey; his wife Inez; his sister Betty; his daughter-in-law Cathy; and his grandson Gary Jr..

He is survived by : his sons, Daniel and Ronald; his sister Shirley; and his children, Dan (Elaine), Ron (Mary), Gary (Kellie) and Darla (Mike). He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
