He was predeceased by: his wife Corrine; and his brothers, Theodore and Peter. He is survived by: his parents, Anton Groll and Genevieve Groll; and his children, Antoinette Steitz (Bill) of Newman, Gregory Groll (Lorie) of Turlock, Gary Groll of Turlock and John Groll (Nancy) of Turlock. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made in John's memory to Alzheimer's Association.
