He was predeceased by: his brother David Schaefer. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen O'Toole Schaefer; his son Bruce Schaefer; his former wife Patricia Graff; his wife Debbie; his brothers, George Schaefer of Modesto and John Schaefer of Modesto; and his siblings' children, Colby Schaefer Nichol of Laguna Niguel, John Schaefer of Lansdowne, Carol Schaefer Davis of Modesto, Sophia, Simone, Grace, Tai, Wyatt and Aidan.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant Care Hospice, 125 North Broadway in Turlock or the American Cancer Society.
