He was predeceased by : his parents, Eduviges Acosta Chavez and Consuelo Rangel Villa; and his siblings, Margarita, Saul and Dolores.

He is survived by : his children, Reyna, Julio, Rocio, Irene and Gabriel; and his siblings, Crispin, Catalina, Efrain and Irma. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
