I worked with Lou when he was head of the animal facility at Hiram House Camp. I was an animal counselor there from 1956 through 1960. Lou always taught “kindness and understanding” when dealing with animals. At the time, Lou had a Golden Eagle, “Jezebell” and a Mountain Lion, “Cleo”. Lou taught me quite a bit about falconry and helped me get started in the field. I lost track of Lou in about 1960 when I went away to college. I was sorry to read of his passing and offer my condolences.
