He was predeceased by : his parents, Artur A. Kirchner and Marie Kirchner (Lautner); his wife Nela; and his brother Wolfgang Kirchner. He is survived by : his children, Bernhard Lucas Kirchner of Northville, Michigan, Adelheid "Heidi" Anderson (John) of Ann Arbor, Sonja and Doris-Maria Hettle (Beau) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his grandchildren, Eligh, Levigh and Sophia; his siblings, Reinhard Kirchner, Rita Kirchner and Irene Kirchner; and his former life partner Adelheid Franciska Strecker.
