He was predeceased by: his parents, Mildred and Harold; his brothers, Robert and John; his son David; and his grandson Anton La Rue.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn; his children, Chuck, Mary (Alex) and Julie (Adam); his daughter-in-law Lisa; and his sister Jeanne Dunphy. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
