With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Walter Heinrich Reiss Jr. (Colorado Springs, Colorado), who passed away on August 30, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Heinrich Reiss, Sr. and Velma McIntyre Reiss; and his brother Randy Reiss (Carol Reiss). He is survived by: his wife Carol Sue Oberzan; his children, Walter H. Reiss, III and Heidi Reiss; his children-in-law, Kathleen Reiss and Tyler Schleicher; and his grandchildren, Michelle (Reiss), Matthew Kolb, Theo McGrath, Sophia and James Schleicher.
The family will have a private celebration of life in December, and is requesting that donations be made to Scouting America (https://donations.scouting.org) in lieu of flowers.
