He is survived by: his parents, Mark Edward Mersmann and Rilla Ann Mersmann (Pickert); his siblings, Kenneth Mark Mersmann (Tomea), Amy Kristine Grzesiowski (Michael), Eric James Mersmann and Paul Michael Mersmann (Alison); and his siblings' children, Joy Regina, Grace Catherine, Mark Carter Mersmann, Ryan Michael, William Michael Grzesiowski and Ray Khem Mersmann.
