He was predeceased by: his sister Mary Ann; his parents, Jose and Juanita; and his brothers, John and Manuel.

He is survived by: his sons, Nathaniel and Daniel (Tenchita); his grandchildren, Ivie Hyatt and Eli; and his siblings, James, Bob, Marcelino, Ted, Tom, Mingo, Frances and Bertha (Bobby). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
