He was predeceased by: his former wives, Nancy Nangle Byrne and Leah Schoelzel; his wife Kay Chorley Grossman Byrne; his parents, Cletus Sr. Byrne and Mary "Bess" Byrne; his siblings, Donald Byrne (Loretta) and Audrey Merkle (George); and his brother-in-law Charles Schwendeman.
He is survived by: his sister Elizabeth "Betty" Schwendeman; his daughters, Elizabeth Byrne (Robert) and Barb Waffle (Steve); his grandchildren, Drew Waffle (Julia) and Anne Clinton; and his great grandchild Declan Waffle. He is also survived by many stepchildren and step-grandchildren, sisters- & brothers-in-law, and nieces & nephews.
