He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank H. Platt Sr. and Gertrude Gustafson Platt. He is survived by: his wife Orpha B. Platt; and his daughters, Gretchen Stubenvoll, Amy Crafton and Orpha Jean Hoerter. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
