He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carl Rye and Mable Rye (Haugen); his son Scott Rye; and his sisters, Maxine Lapham (Art) and Marion Fish (Jack). He was also cherished by numerous family members and friends.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the "Muscular Dystrophy Association" (MDA.ORG) in Ken Rye's name.
