He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carl Ahlbrandt and Dorothy Ahlbrandt (Wood); his spouse Imogene Fabricius; his children, Cheryl, John (Jeanne), Keil Marie and Carter James; and his brother Harry Ahlbrandt.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Carl's memory be made to St. John's Lutheran Church.
