Frederick John Matthies Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Frederick John Matthies of Fort Collins, Colorado, born in Omaha, Nebraska, who passed away on September 1, 2020, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlotte Leota Matthies (Carol) and Fred Matthies; and his brother Charles Matthies. He is survived by: his wife Carol Mae Dean; his children, John (April) and Jane (Tom); his grandchildren, Patricia, Benjamin (Bridget) and Joshua (Jordyn); his great grandchildren, Nathan, Emma, Wyatt, Mason and William; and his sister-in-law Gloria Matthies.
Due to Covid 19 a small, private memorial service for both Fred and Carol will be held in Omaha at Lutheran Church of the Master, Monday, September 14, 2020, at 1pm, followed by a graveside service at Omaha National Cemetery with military honors for Fred.
