He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Mihelich-Helms; his sons, David Helms (Gina), Jason Helms (Corie) and Jeffrey Helms (Trisha); his grandsons, Connor and Matty (David); and his siblings, Joeleen Pentland of Charlotte, NC, Ron Helms (Bonnie) of Council Bluffs, IA, Geri McArthur (Pat) of Fayetteville, NC, Don Helms of Charlotte, NC, Bill Helms of Okatie, SC and Bob Helms.
