He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Nelson and Ellen Nelson; and his sister Mitzi. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Smith of Fort Morgan; his children, Marc (Sandy) of Sidney, NE and Cheri (Terry Towne) of Castle Rock, CO; his grandsons, Jacob Stein, Jordan Towne and Jesse Nelson; his great grandchildren, Sara, Jordan, Selia and John; and his friend Joe Marx.
