She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Taizo Sameshima and Kiye Kato Sameshima; her husband Samuel Kanda; her children, Richard (Dianne) of Fort Collins and Kathryn of Denver; her granddaughter Alexis Kanda-Olmstead (Greg); her great grandchildren, Abraham and Miriam of Woodstock, Vermont; her grandson James Bryan-Kanda (Dorothy); and her great grandchild Margaret. She was also cherished by many nephews, nieces and their children.
The family will conduct a private celebration of her life and requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to the Japanese American National Museum (http://www.janm.org).
