He was predeceased by : his parents, Margarita Montoya and Tiburcio Gomez; his brother-in-law Henry Padilla; and his brother Alfred Gomez. He is survived by : his wife Paula; his children, Joe (Debra), Tony (Patti), Gloria, Carla (Jay), Victor (late Laura) and Vicky (Todd); and his grandchildren, Joseph, Macy, Madison, Gabriel, Ava, Grace and Luke.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jose's name to the Parkinson's Foundation Rocky Mountain Chapter or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
