Carmen Amaya Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carmen Amaya of Lamar, Colorado, born in El Rito, New Mexico, who passed away on November 4, 2021, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Adolfo Martinez and Genara Martinez (Sisneros); her husband Leo J. Amaya; her son Calvin Amaya; her grandchildren, Grace and Gabriel; and her siblings, Rebecca, Clara, Stella, Tony, Fay, Teva and Joe.
She is survived by: her children, Leo Amaya, Jr. (Dena) of Pueblo West, CO, Cathy Griffith (Don), AJ Amaya (Cheryl) of Castle Rock, CO and Michelle Jaime (Herman) of Lamar; and her grandchildren, Tonia, Calvin Jr., Celeste, Feather, Courtney, Josh, Aaron, Ashtyn, Xander, Addison, Arick, Jeremy and Jerrika. She is also survived by twenty-six great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
