He was predeceased by: his son-in-law David Willyard; and his siblings, Abraham Appel and Viola Miller. He is survived by: his wife Mona Appel; his children, Cynthia J. Mullin (Bernie) of Salisbury, MD, Connie J. Willyard of Canon City, CO, Darell L. Appel (Roseanne), Mary L. Blackburn (Lee) of Fort Payne, AL and Dean E. Appel (Kathy) of North Fort, FL; and his siblings, Vernon Appel (Ruby), Betty Bean, Johnnie Appel (Joyce), Edna Oeltjen (Robert) and Harry Appel (Linda). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
