He was predeceased by: his wife Melvina F. Poe; his daughter Sarah Adame; and his stepfather Johnny Poe. He is survived by: his children, Susan Poe of Bristol, Jennifer Page of Bristol, Sandra Churchill (Richard) of Lamar, James Poe (Sharon) of Holly and Melissa Sena (Andrew) of Lamar. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
