He was predeceased by: his siblings, Charles Elam, Jack Elam and Mary Kay O'Dell. He is survived by: his wife Deborah Elam; his children, Ben Elam (Sue) of Benson, AZ and Elizabeth Burton (Brian) of Cook, MN; his grandchildren, Lt. Zachary Bell, Mackenzie Bell, Sydney Bell and Ean Bell; and his brother Joe Elam. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other family and a host of friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
