He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicolas Tafoya and Rosita Tafoya; his stepmother Alice Tafoya; his brothers, Herman and Leonard; his niece Diana Anaya; his grandparents, Manuel Tafoya, Francisquita Tafoya, Frank Armijo and Juanita Armijo; his stepsister Lorraine Herrera; and also Thomas Wessgar.
He is survived by: his siblings, Rosalie Sandoval (Daniel), Larry (Viola), Priscilla Howard and Andrew (Kathyrn); his sister-in-law Theresa; his stepsisters, Arlene Santillanes, Geraldine Lee and Lydia Gonzales; his uncle Arcenio Montoya; and his aunt Theresa Armijo. He is also survived by 15 nieces and nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bishop Tafoya's name to Pueblo Catholic Charities, 429 West 10th Street, Pueblo, CO 81003.
