He was predeceased by: his parents, Carlos Ortiz and Benigna Archuleta; his son Carlos Lee Ortiz; his former wife Sherry Ortiz; his mother-in-law Ramona Steelman; his siblings, Jake Ortiz, Dora Ortiz and Mary Brown; his son-in-law Charles Mather; and his grandson Brentton Alire.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra; his children, Leena Mather, Glennie Alire, Dusty Ortiz, Scottie Alire and Lisa Alire (Rob Phillips); his grandchildren, Liz (Jake), Jeffrey, Brian (Dez'ree), Jordyn (Henry), Charles and Bethany; his great grandchildren, Zachary, Keenan, Silas, Kayda, Kashlynn, Kamaya, JoLee, Thayn and Mila; his sister Priscilla Allen; his brothers-in-law, Eddie Steelman (Adrianne), Wilford Steelman and Jerry Steelman (Angie); and his close friend Ellen Mahoney.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Romero Family Funeral Home (110 Cleveland St, Pueblo, CO 81004).
