He was predeceased by: his wife Pearl Hazard; his grandson John Robert Groy; and his siblings, Lewis R. Groy Jr and Josie McDaniel. He is survived by: his children, John D Groy Buena (Barbara) and Vania Nameth (Paul) of Cotopaxi; his grandchildren, Daniel, Mike Groy, Haley and Logan Nameth; his great grandchildren, Scott, Caylie and Ryan Groy; his sisters, Mary Lou Little (Fritz) of McDonough, GA and Helen Leavitt (Richard); his brother-in-law Earl McDaniel of Canon City, CO; and his half-brother Thomas Lee Groy. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
