He was predeceased by: his son Christopher Abeyta; his parents, Eugenio Abeyta and Manuelita Anderson (Archuleta); his brother Manuel Robles; and his granddaughter Alyssa Abeyta.

He is survived by: his children, Robert Abeyta, Gina Leyba (Robert), Genaro Abeyta (Michelle) and Daniel Abeyta (Gale); his grandchildren, Gabriel Leyba, Bernadette Battel, Zachary Abeyta, Dominique Wallace, Andrew Cropper, Alicia Abeyta and Daniel Abeyta Jr.; and his siblings, Emilio Abeyta (Jean) and Mary Trujillo (Ray).

As we work our way through COVID we realize that some family and friends may not be able to join in person.
