He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Flossie Grupp (Robbins) and Joe Grupp; his grandfather Robbins; his wife Frances Mary Gerze; his children, Frances Bingham (Jim), Richard Grupp (Chris), Robert Grupp (Bethany) and Georgia Teter (Dean); and his sister Pauline Smith (Clarence). He was also cherished by nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
