It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Redd (Ansonia, Connecticut), born in New Haven, Connecticut, who passed away on November 21, 2019, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Simmons and Mamie Bannister Simmons; her husband Bishop Eugene A. Redd; her brother Charles Simmons; and her foster daughter Tara Spencer.
She is survived by: her children, Eugene Russaw (Janet) of Tennessee, Sherril K. Redd, Priscilla A. Black (Thomas) of Ridgefield Ct, Tarsyia M. Waddell of Texas, Ronja D. Goldson (Terri) of Ansonia, Kathy Lewis Russell of Conway, Diane Stroman and Tonya Jones of Ansonia; and her siblings, Mamie Saulsbury of Hamden, Mary Ingram of New Haven, Betty Ford of Birmingham, Ala, Frances Quint of Long Island, N. Y. and Reginald Simmons of New Haven. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 20 godchildren, and a host of friend.
