He was predeceased by: his parents, Ludger Hamel and Fedora Oulette Hamel; and his siblings, Madeline Topkins and Ronald Hamel. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Sullivan Hamel; his children, David R. Hamel (Maureen) of Woodbury, Susan Cirillo (Michael), Linda Sala, Deborah Redland of Virginia and Donna Hamel of Ansonia; and his siblings, Richard, Norman Hamel and Stella Martel. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
