He was predeceased by : his spouse Saroj Mehta; his parents, Velji Mehta and Maniben Mehta; and his siblings, Vanita Mehta, Shivlal, Umangilal and Kaniyalal Mehta.

He is survived by : his child Prashant Mehta; his child-in-law Varsha P. Mehta of Bethany; his grandchildren, Akash, Akshay and Shraiya; and his siblings, Damayanti Doshi (Rajnikant) of Milford, Kusum Mehta (Narendra) of Bombay, India, Pravinchandra Mehta, Ishwar Mehta (Smita) of Milford and Khushal Mehta (Renuka) of Raleigh, NC.. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
