She was predeceased by: her father Clarence; and her sisters, Rosa Peters, Lorene Hendricks, Catherine Slayton and Janie Brown.

She is survived by: her husband Gregory Mitchell (Duke) of Bloomfield; her son Lincoln Wood (Stephanie) of East Hartford; her grandson Louis Ferri of Wallingford; her sister Ruby McIntosh (Frederick) of DeKalb, MS.; and her stepdaughters, Marcie Moss, Lisa Mitchell and Ebony Smith.
