He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Brainerd and Hilda Gunther Brainerd; and his brothers, William P. and James P. Brainerd. He is survived by: his wife Leah Bartlett Brainerd of Maine; and his siblings, Connie Francois (Bill), Lucille Ward, Renee Stannard, Robin Faulkner (Larry), Dana Brainerd (Jill) and Judy Flynn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
