He was predeceased by: his father Victor L. Rivera. He is survived by: his wife Facunda Perez Mateo; his children, Priscilla, Jordan and Daniel; his mother Lourdes Vazquez Rivera; his sister Lourdes Rivera; and his aunt Maria Medina.
