He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Kurwelnz of Ohio and Josephine Rasmus Hartman of Bristol; his wife Sharon D. Kurwelnz; and his siblings, Marlene M. Mitchell and Richard L. Hartman.
He is survived by: his close friend Helen Turner; his children, Kimberly Caron (Robert) of Bristol, Kristine Millerd of South Windsor and Edward Kurwelnz of East Hartford; his grandchildren, Nicholas Herrick, Daniel Milligan of Jacksonville, FL, Elyse Caron of New Britain, Justin and Alyssa Millerd; and his siblings, Alvina Furniss, Deborah Hartman of Bristol, Steven Decker of Plainville, Alvin Kurwelnz of New Britain and John Decker. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
