She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. Bradford S. Colwell; her parents, Rufus P. Cushman, Jr. and Clara Morse Cushman; and her siblings, Rufus P. Cushman, III and Jane C. Deyo.
She is survived by: her daughters, Jane Simpson (John) of Hamden, Mary Bernier (Alan) of Wakefield, NH and Barbara Wrightson (David) of Andover, MA; her grandchildren, Carolyn, Jennifer Bernier, Rebecca, Andrew Wrightson, Jacqueline and Shawn Simpson; and her sister Elizabeth Gumbart of Cheshire. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
