With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Giovannina Malinconico of East Haven, Connecticut, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Giovannina left this world on October 8, 2025 at the age of 96, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Frank Malinconico; her parents, Carlo Possidente and Judita Mancini Possidente; and her siblings, Marino, William, Bernard, Alex, Giovanni, Elvira Votto, Mary D'Angelo, Catherine De Lucia and Carmel Marciano.
She is survived by: her sons, Frank Malinconico (Sue-Ann) of Old Saybrook, CT and Stephen Malinconico (Karyn) of Woodbridge, CT.; her grandchildren, Michael Malinconico (Morgan) of Boston, Jessica Malinconico of Chicago, IL, Nicholas Malinconico of Groton, CT and Marco Malinconico of East Lyme, CT; her great grandchild Archer Bradley Malinconico; and her sister Lucille Lamberti of North Haven, CT. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc. (11 Wooster Pl, New Haven, CT 06511). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Infant Church (450 Racebrook Rd, Orange, CT 06477). A burial will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Orange Center Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made in Jane's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org).
