He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Guy and Alice Nelson (Walsh); his wife Rosemary Nelson (Monette); and his sisters, Sally Baribault and June Burke.
He is survived by: his children, Rene Nelson Alderman (Jeffrey) of Suffield, John Lance Nelson (Genevra) of Enfield and Brian; his siblings, Richard Guy Nelson (Mary Rowan) and Jackie Tuomala (Jerry); and his siblings-in-law, Robert Mercik and Dar Licitra (Bob). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers John's family suggest donations in his memory be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St, Springfield, MA 01104.
