He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Anderson and Margaret Anderson (Porter); his wife Carolyn; his daughter Deborah; and his sisters, Karen, Kay and Patricia.

He is survived by: his brother Donnie of Ansonia; his sons, Sam Jr., Rick and Billy; and his former wife Patricia of Bradenton, FL.. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
