He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy "Dottie" M. Hanscomb (Olisky); his parents, Walter and Charlotte (Hazelton); and his daughters, Deborah Haake and Cheryl Bertok.

He is survived by: his daughter Donna M. (Thomas O'Grady); his grandchildren, Ryan O'Grady (Julie), Adam O'Grady, Daniel O'Grady, Connor O'Grady, Jaclyn O'Grady, Christine Haake and Erik Haake; his great grandchildren, Lydia, Nolan and Claire O'Grady; and his brother Francis Hanscomb of Manchester, NH..
