He was predeceased by: his wife Gertrude Murphy (Brodeur); his parents, Peter Murphy and Anita Murphy (Faucher); and his siblings, Jeannette Murphy, Cecille Murphy and George Murphy.

He is survived by: his son Brian Murphy; his stepdaughter Tracy Johnston; his sister Dorothy McCormac of Putnam; and his grandchildren, Kyla, Lexi and Kaden.
