He is survived by: his children, Malika Shariff (Robert Forman) of New Haven, CT, Jesse Bernell Staton of Hamden, CT, Karen Delois Gardner of Hamden, CT and Vanessa Lewis (Mark) of Windsor, CT; his grandchildren, Phillip Gordon Smith, Terrance Gardner, Dr. Mark Anthony Lewis, Jr., Jordan Tyler Lewis and Zachary Collin Lewis; his great grandchildren, Devonte Malik Smith, Mark Anthony Lewis III and Jesse Wayne Lewis; his sisters, Hilda Odessa Staton of New Haven, CT, Sylvia Sherrod of East Orange, NJ, Alice Jones of Richmond, VA and Cynthia Maxine James (Henry) of New Haven, CT; his nieces, Phyllis Shaw of Raeford, NC and Sharon Locke of New Haven, CT; and his nephew Andreus Lock of Wallingford, CT. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
